Competition Rules
Trafford Young Composer and Poet of the Year

- There will be two age groups, Under 12, and 12–18 years old on 1st. September of this year. Both will be split into MUSIC and POETRY entries making four classes in all.
- Any work can be submitted that contains music and/or poetry but it must be entirely the entrants’ own efforts.
- Group entries (any number in the group) will be accepted in either category. Music entries can be sent in manuscript (preferable) or on cassette/CD/DVD etc via email or ordinary post
- Entries by normal post must be sent to THE SECRETARY, ‘STAGE ONE’, 16,CROSSFIELD ROAD, HALE, ALTRINCHAM, WA15 8DU, to arrive no later than 1st. May. Competitors can send as many entries as they like. Email entries should be sent via this website.(see Contact Page)
- By 1st June unsuccessful applicants will be notified. The remainder will go through to the Grand Concert to be held in early July in Altrincham (7pm start)
- A panel of judges will be appointed to decide the winners of the four classes. Their decision is final and will be announced at the end of the Concert.
- The composers/poets will not be required to perform their work at the Concert. Adult speakers, or the ‘Stage One’ Orchestra, will do this in as professional way as possible.
